New Sort Order for Profile List

2014-03-18 11:58:41

In an effort to continually improve CPP for ease of use for church planting networks we have recently changed how your profiles list displays.

When you log in to your account and click on the "Profiles" tab you will now find the names displayed by most recent activity. This means that the potential planter who has most recently updated their profile (upgraded their account, completed an assessment, etc.) will be at the top of the list.

You can also sort your profile list by any of the other fields by simply clicking on the name of the field at the top of the table (Date, name, ISA score, Golden, etc.) If you click the field name a second time it will resort in the opposite order.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact support@churchplanterprofiles.com This change was made at the suggestion of users like you.

If you have a suggestion for how to improve the effective use of CPP you can send them to support@churchplanterprofiles.com for future upgrade consideration.

Thank you for partnering with Church Planter Profiles in your efforts to plant churches to reach those whom God loves.

Discover Both Aptitude and Readiness

2012-11-14 10:37:20

How do you know if someone can effectively start a new church? That is the question church planter assessment attempts to answer.  It is critical to make sure the process is designed to discover both aptitude and readiness.

Aptitude refers the aspects of personality, gifting, and ability that are given by God.  These qualities are present in a person’s life by the will and work of God.  When God gave instructions for building the tabernacle (Exodus 35) everyone was asked to bring a gift, but Bezalel was filled with the Spirit of God, and the skill, ability and knowledge to make artistic designs of gold, silver and bronze.  Bezalel had been given the aptitude to build the tabernacle by God.

How to Read and Understand the ISA

2012-10-12 15:04:22

TEXT

The ELI Initial Screening Assessment consists of 85 questions designed to evaluate:

  • Church Planting Experience – Have they effectively started and led new ministry initiatives?
  • Entrepreneurial Leadership – Do they prefer leading new and innovative activities?
  • Ministry Experience – Have they effectively led ministry initiatives?
  • Relational Evangelism – Are they actively involved in leading others to faith?

The scores are reported as percentages, based on a potential of 100%, but should not be compared to a typical academic scale. Instead, we provide a benchmark, a median, and a green/yellow/red indicator.

I got a call from a leader in a regional church planting effort recently.  His question: "where can we find more planters?”  It's a common question.  Church planting has increased in popularity during the 20 years I've been involved, but there is still a shortage of willing and ready leaders.  Where can you find more planters?

Assess Early and Often

2011-11-15 14:55:45

Planting more churches, more effectively requires finding more leaders more often.  Let me suggest one way of doing this – assess potential leaders early and often.

Many of the assessment mistakes I have observed begin by doing the opposite – assessing only a few leaders very late in the process.  This leads to two consequences.  First, there simply aren’t enough potential leaders in the process to discover the ones with high potential, so the less than ideal leader is selected because he or she is “the best option we have.”  Hint – if you feel like you’re settling, you probably haven’t found a high potential leader.  Second, there is too much already invested to say no, so assessment red flags get ignored because, “we can’t afford to start over.” You can avoid both of these mistakes by assessing early and often.

Assess Early - ELI’s Initial Screening Assessment was built for just this purpose and should be the very first thing you do before you meet or even talk to a potential church planter.  It’s tempting to say, “I’d like to meet them first” – but meeting them is where the problem begins because when you meet them, you like them and liking them has no correlation to their church planting potential.  Gathering data early will keep your conversation focused on real potential not just personal preference.

Assess Often - One of ELI’s partners leans on the Brothers Grimm to convey this idea in a memorable way.  He says, “you have to kiss a lot of frogs if you want to find a prince.”  Church Planter Profiles makes the process easy.  The ISA is free.  A full assessment is only $89.  It takes only a few minutes to review the data you receive.  Building a large pool of potential planters will increase the likelihood of finding a few with high potential.

How well are you doing at assessing early and often?  Here is a simple metric:

Determine the number of churches you want to plant (A) and the number of leaders who have completed the ISA (B).  Then ask yourself, are you confident that A out of B leaders you meet are potential church planters?  If not, then begin making it a priority to assess early and often.

If you’d like to learn more about using Church Planter Profiles in your assessment process, attend our December 8th webinar, “Building an Effective Assessment Process.”

Updates Changes and More!

2011-07-19 11:35:34

Since the launch of Church Planter Profiles in 2008, we have been honored to partner with over 100 reproducing churches, networks and denomination to discover church planting potential.

Along the way we have made minor changes to the website. We are excited to announce the most significant update we have made since our launch.

  • A more reliable Initial Screening Assessment.
The new ISA will include 85 questions, provide more reliable results and potential planters will be able to take it more than once to track their development.
  • A new feedback system for the 360 Profile.
Profile respondents will have a new scale for providing feedback and planters will be able to see an average of the responses.
  • Personalized Development Guides.
As part of the full profile, planters will receive a personalized development guide to help them take next steps in preparation for church planting.
  • Improved PDF reports.
The PDF reports you download will look more like the reports you see on the screen.
  • All planter access to the file system.
New navigation will allow planters who take the ISA to see and download documents your network has posted in the file system.
